Hard Reset is a cyberpunk roguelike deckbuilder where real-world task completion fuels gameplay. Earn Action Points by completing actual tasks and habits, then spend them navigating a dystopian city, customizing your cyborg body, and battling corporate enforcers.
Built on behavioral science principles, Hard Reset transforms productivity into genuine gameplay—not gamification with bolted-on RPG elements. Every run is procedurally generated, permanent meta-progression unlocks new cards and story paths, and the narrative follows a cyborg revolutionary fighting to destroy or liberate an imprisoned artificial superintelligence across three acts.

About ChopWood

ChopWood is an organization dedicated to the realization of this principle by converting mundane tasks into legitimately fun games. It's sorta like how running is a drag, but if you add two nets, a ball, and some rules, you've got a game which millions of people worldwide play and enjoy. The key is the fun.
Co-founders Will Wright and Janet Verwolf built Hard Reset to be exactly that—fun. By taking the best game mechanics from modern games and crafting a cyberpunk universe where these components can fit together in an epic narrative, Hard Reset isn't a gamified checklist like so many other apps—it's the game powered by your life.
